Welcome to the 2023-2024 Delano Area Youth Hockey Association.
ALL PLAYERS: Per the MN Hockey Participation policy a player can play where they live OR with the association of their school enrollment, should it differ from the residence. For school enrollment-based registration however, parents MUST request a waiver from their home residence association BEFORE completing their registration with the school enrollment-based program. This is a one-time requirement and does not need to be completed each year.
Please visit the MN Hockey Website - Youth Rules and Regulations (pages 2 & 3 of link) for complete details on the 'Participation Rule'.
USA Hockey Registration: ALL FAMILIES will register first with USA Hockey. Online Registration will be a 2-part process and DAYHA will be directing all registrants to USA Hockey's registration page to first complete and pay the USA/MN Hockey registration portion, then back to the DAYHA site for completion.

At the younger level, DAYHA offers an Intro to Hockey level whereby the players will skate 12 Saturdays during the year.
There is another opportunity for your player to do a shorter session called One Goal, Learn to Skate and have the option to add the Intro to Hockey level if desired.
Below is an explanation of the One Goal, Learn to Skate program along with the registration link on the Delano Community Ed website. If you register your player for One Goal, Learn to Skate and want to continue to the Intro to Hockey level, you will need to continue registration on this site. Also, if you choose to sign your child up for the Intro to Hockey level and have played One Goal, Learn to Skate, you will be able to use the One Goal, Learn to Skate equipment for the entire season. More detailed information will be provided at the One Goal, Learn to Skate parent meeting.
One Goal, Learn to Skate details:
Delano Area Youth Hockey Association (DAYHA) is again offering our One Goal, Learn to Skate Program. This program is designed specifically for kids ages 4-8 who are looking for an introduction to hockey. The on-ice sessions are designed to teach newcomers some basics of the game in a fun and safe environment. All on-ice sessions are run by DAYHA coaches and student athletes. On and off ice support is offered to teach kids how to get their equipment on, hold a stick and most importantly skate. The program will offer a Q&A session designed to help parents and players understand the equipment, expectations of the program and additional opportunities to skate for the 2023-2024 season. Equipment (excluding skates, stick, support and mouth guard) will be provided for families that are new to hockey and do not have their own equipment ($125.00 security deposit is required).
Information will be available in Fall Community Ed brochures.
Intro to Hockey registrations should proceed to the page to get their player's USA Hockey number.
